I don’t even know how to start this one because my heart’s been so heavy this week, and life just hasn’t stopped lately. I’ve had a bit of a pit in my stomach, that kind of anxious feeling you try to push down but it just keeps coming back. I think every mum gets that now and again—but when you’ve got a child with complex needs, it is a bit different.
Lately, Oakley’s been doing so well. He’s growing, laughing, trying to run when he holds my hands—like he’s got somewhere important to be. I see him really becoming the best version of himself! He’s been in such a good place and I’ve been soaking up every little moment. I guess that’s why this next bit is so hard to say.
