Tinder and Dating App Nightmares

So you lot have been asking me about my love life and so many of my friends keep telling me to get back on the dating apps – and I wanted to share more about that side of my life – Get ready! But honestly, everything about it PETRIFIES me! The idea of scrolling through endless profiles and deciding whether to meet someone based on a few pictures and some details—it feels so transactional. I mean, how am I supposed to know if we’ll vibe or if there’s actual chemistry just from a curated snapshot of someone’s life? It just doesn’t make sense in my mind. It’s not how I imagine forming real connections. It all feels so artificial, like shopping for people. Is that really how I’m supposed to find love?

And the whole thing just feels so vain to me. I know people say it’s not just about looks, but come on—there’s no way around it. You’re literally swiping left or right based on someone’s appearance, and I hate how shallow it feels. Messaging can help, sure, but even that doesn’t really do it for me. I don’t want a relationship that starts from endless small talk over text. I want to see someone’s expressions, hear their voice, feel their energy in person. Without that, how can I even be sure we’re really connecting?
